Study On The Status Quo And Development Of Private Enterprise In Chongqing

Lin Wei (Economics and Trade College, South-West Agricultural University, BeiBei, Chongqing)Under the right direct of reform and opening-up policy, private enterprises have become the important strength in impelling the development of China's economy. The private enterprise in Chongqing also has gained a lot of achievements, and has made a grate contribution to local economic development and social steadiness. But compared with the coastal area and central-China area, it is still backward. The total out-put of private enterprises of Chongqing in 2000 only accounts for a share of 9.7% of the domestic out-put of the whole city. In the same time, there still exists many problems in the development of private enterprises such as the scale, management, technology etc. the paper analyses all the problems and their causes.With the entry of WTO and carrying out of the strategy of western development, the private enterprise of Chongqing encounters many new opportunities.In order to speed up the development of private enterprises in Chongqing, the private enterprise should face their own quality problems and take the follow appropriate measures:a) Construct the modern enterprise system and scientific management body.b) Enact the long-term strategies of enterprise developmentc) Enhance the ability of technological exploitation and innovation.Meanwhile, a favorable outside surrounding is also important and some policies are necessary:a) Realize the guiding principle of private enterprise and strengthen public opinion.b) Conduct the private enterprises participating the reform of state-own enterprises positively.c) Perfect the legal system of private enterprise.d) Solve the financial problem of private enterprise, broaden the ways of services for private enterprise, and reinforce the direction and management of private enterprise.
