Since it was born, International Container Multi - modal Transport has been in both shippers' and carriers' good graces. In the short period of 20 - 30 years, this fomi of transportation has reached even' nook and corner of the world. At the same time, the legislative attempt of International Container Multi - modal Transport has never punctuated. Referring to the content of the United Nations Convention on International Multi - modal Transport of Goods and some other national and International laws and practices, this thesis has made a brief introduction of the definition, specialities, etc. of International Container Multi-modal Transport, and in the meantime, has chiefly elaborated four principal aspects-the mulli - modal transport operator(MTO), liabilities of MTO, multimodal transport document, and insurance. Eventually, binding with the national and international new progress of the International Container Multi - modal Transport at present, some of my superficial opinions was put forward. I hope that through this discussion, scholars could make a thorough investigation and study on the legislative related problems of the International Container Multi - modal Transport. Such research and discussion might be useful for the legislation and practice of International Container Multi - modal Transport in the future.
