With the development of the spatial information technology, geographic information system (GIS) as a special information system integrates with geographic spatial character and different statistical information has been applied extensively in almost every field Such as the city planning, the management of environment resources, the protection of ecological environment and etc. It's important to apply GIS to tourist trade that still stays in beginning and exploring phase. We can use GIS to manage the tourist resources effectively and to plan scenic spot rationally as well as providing some objective and lively tourist information to tourists. But we should see the traditional tourist management method is still exist and has many deficiency because of the limitation of the human resources, capital and natural condition .So it is imperative in tourist department to manage the spatial and attribute information scientifically to enhance the level of the management and service and to make the resources management and planning work possess scientific and manipulative ability so this research has important value on theory research and reality signification.The thesis firstly analyzes problems that lie in the tourist resources management and supplies some effective methods to manage the tourist resources. We take beauty spot of Jiangxi for example to build up a tourist resources management information system, which takes Maplnfo as workstation, MapBasic and VB as programming language and use OLE technology to integrate the attribute and space data. This information system will manage the tourist resources effectively and can provide consultive information for tourists and relative institution.According to the analysis of the system's requirements we have got the data requirements and the elementary function requirements. In the course of the database design, after the design of space database structure, code, special symbol and the analysis of attribute data structure, using the database of Maplnfo and Access to build up and manage spatial and attribute data.In this system, using spatial analytic function of Maplnfo to carry out the subsidiary decision-making system. It also make good use of the function of statistical analysis to do some analysis in the scenic spot (such as the distribute of the resources and the flow of the tourists) and to draw the analysis charts including bar charts, pie charts, graphs and so on.The application provides a simple and convenient data manipulation. It is easy to input, delete or modify data, and of course it pays much attention to maintain the integrity and accuracy of data.The application also provides a convenient data output. You can use multimethods to query what you concern for. For example you can use vector information query, space data query, interactive query between the charts and the datum and so on .In the query module, you can apply the application's analytical function to get analytical result, which you want. And you can also46print special topic map what you need.In conclusion, the application has a friendly graphical user interface and comparatively comprehensive function, and it is expandable. To some extend, it meets user's need practically. But the system still has many parts need to be consummated.
