A Study On The Disparities Of Regional Welfare Level In China

Regional disparity is an objective phenomenon in the development of the human society, and the government, researchers and people are worrying about it all the time. Some researchers think it as a social problem, some think it as an economic problem, and others think it as a mixture of society and economy. As a result, the point of view is different. In our country, more and more people become worrying about the disparities of regions since the reform and open-door policy was carrying out in 1978. This has been seen in the academicals circle too. A lot of scholars write articles on this problem.This paper consider that the development of a region should focus on the welfare of people^ the satisfactory extents of people' s demands. So, this paper tries to discuss the problem in this way. The whole article includes the following contents.First, this paper reviews the works of researchers in and out of China, then put forward the researching thought of the article, that is, the development of a country or a region should serve for the people. In other words, it should facilitate the civilization of human society, improve the material, cultural and living level of people. In order to carry out the research, this paper then focuses on the method of how to measure the welfare of regions. Through explaining the define of welfare, we point out the relationship of welfare and individual demand, then put forward the measurement of individual welfare. Later, based on the study of justice, wefigure out the measurement of regional welfare. At last the paper work out anacademic model.The article then points out the principle of index selecting, following those principles and thinking of the possibility of the collecting of the data; we work out an index system of region welfare.The following part is the most important part of the article. In this part, the explanation of the data is pointed out; the principle analyses method is used for giving the power of the index; a lot of test and statistic inference is also given out. At last, a time series analyze and spatial analyze is carried out and a compare analyze is given out.Through the study this paper work out the following conclusion: In the study period, the absolute discrepancy of Regional welfare level in China is larger and larger. The rich become richer and the poor become poorer when time is past. The demonstration of the article is conforming to the regularity that pointed out by Williamson. There are desynchronizing in the spatial distribution of regional welfare and the discrepancy of Regional welfare level in China is not very large compared to the other research.
