China's entry into WTO finds it a reality that domestic competition becomes internationalized while international competition occurs much often domestically. Automobile parts suppliers are therefore destined to choose e-manufacturing as the most important way to improve their competitive power in global competition. Surveys have suggested the low success rate and huge risks in enterprise e-manufacturing in China, then this thesis analyzes various factors that possibly result in e-manufacturing risks and provides effective methods to control risks. An e-manufacturing implementation pattern which grounds on risk controlling is later put forward for automobile parts suppliers. This thesis firstly studies both individual and general features of automobile parts suppliers' e-manufacturing and brings forward the enterprise segmentation theory that bases on information technology (IT) requirements. Studies on its segment structure and arithmetic help to build up the IT requirement model for automobile parts suppliers, which analyzed in detail both internal and external e-manufacturing basic requirements of domestic automobile parts suppliers in collaborative commerce time.Secondly it systematically analyzed external and internal e-manufacturing risks to provide a whole set of risk-controlling measures, which include IT outsourcing strategy, software-renting strategy with ASP, ideas that are conducted by business optimization and supported by information technology, supervision principles, strategic partners retaining, qualification certificating defined by relevant national bureaucracies, fundamental data preparing and so on.Then main threads of project management, risk management, business process reengineering, information technology and stuff training run through three stages in enterprise e-manufacturing, which are described as general scheming, step-by-step implementing and ever-lasting improving. Specific tasks in each stage are all discussed and the 'Snowballing' methodology is particularly put forward over step-by-step implementation. It discusses possible e-manufacturing entrances, technical routings and key factors that power e-manufacturing. An ERP implementation case is also studied to extend the discussion about instantiating this methodology over given projects.Studies in this thesis are closely tied to enterprise e-manufacturing practices, part of which has been introduced to the information technology application of an automobile parts supplier in powder metallurgy. This case ranges over general schemingand the implementation of CAD, CAPP, PDM and ERP and operates excellently up to now.
