Studies On MRPâ…¡/ERP System Implementation In Discrete Manufacturing Industry--Taking Huaxin Electric Group Co., As Am Example

China has formally been admitted into WTO, and most of our discrete manufacturing companies will face tough competition and challenge. In this situation, it appears especially urgent for them to make full use of advanced foreign management thoughts and technologies to wholly enhance their competitive capabilities. As a set of mature MIS, the system MRP II /ERP which has been proved to be successful by many foreign companies, is doubtless chief choice to the requirements of most of our discrete manufacturing companies.First, the thesis is composed mainly through the five phases which MRPII/ERP evolved, i.e. (l)Order Point; (2)MRP; (3)Closed-loop MRP; (4)MRP II; (5)ERP; and then the thesis explains in proper order the scientific management method and 6 steps for the implementation of MRPII/ERP system in the discrete manufacturing industry, and thirdly on the basis of the above theories, it analyzes in detail the case the discrete manufacturing company about Huaxin Electric Group Co., Ltd in these respects such that the company has taken an important measure to smoothly realize the main things, system model selection, prototyping and function analysis, two times development, and system switching, and at the same time that the company has attached importance to datapreparedness, data consistence; and all workers and staff, the entire proceeding, and the whole company training. In the end, the thesis refers to the striking managerial and economic benefits which MRP II /ERP has brought to Huaxin Electric Group on account of successful implementation. Through the said theoretical analysis and the detailed studies of Huaxin implementation, it is revealed in the thesis about the innovations that the successful implementation of MRP II /ERP system in the discrete manufacturing industry needs some conditions that firstly, the company itself must strength the sense of main body; secondly, the company must carry on BPR(Business Process Reengineering); thirdly, the company needs customerization and two times development; finally, the company needs uninterrupted and complete training.Through the study taking a concrete example, I have a deep understanding about the MRP II/ERP theory and its implementation ideas, in the meantime I deeply feel that the case in the thesis has successful experiences to go by for our discrete manufacturing companies that will face more and more tough competition, specially in the course of changing their ideas, absorbing new advanced foreign managerial technologies and thoughts, and thus successfully and effectively implementing MRP II /ERP system.
