While the market economy gains a rapid development, the freedom of people's changing and selecting jobs is enlarged. People, especially the youth, are now easier to select a job at their own will. We are often hearing about that somebody is quitting a job, to get a better one or to remain a contemporarily unemployed state for a while. Whether changing a job or remaining unemployed, there exists a question: what is the reason of making the choice? What does a job mean to people or what does a job bring to people? What makes one to decide to work or not, to select job A or job B? This piece of thesis makes effort to give an explanation to the above-mentioned question. Using the Subjective Analysing Method in Applied Economy as the main tool, this piece of thesis demonstrates the marginal utility curve of revenue, the marginal utility curve of job and the marginal negative utility curve of job, gives out the brand-new concept of Willing-to-work Time, and together with the qualitative and quantitative analysis, makes clear to expatiate the deciding model of the Willing-to-work Time and the influence on the Willing-to-work Time of the movement of the marginal utility curve of job and the marginal negative utility curve of job. At this theory basis and with using the concept of the utility, this piece of thesis goes even further to give out the definition of the Satisfactory Level of Employee's Working, and puts forward a totally new explanation to part of the managing tactics under this theory model. What should be especially emphasized is that the viewpoint of this piece of thesis is on the theoretical basis of the Law of Diminishing Marginal Utility (the First Law of Gosson). the Law of Marginal Utility's Equalization (the Second Law of Gossen) and the Need Pyramid Theory of Maslow. Throughout this piece of thesis, no effort is put into the further reasoning of the above-mentioned theories but all of them are assumed correct.
