A Study On Mechanism Little Cities And Towns' Development In The Less Underdeveloped Region——a Case Study In Fengqing County

China has entered taking urbanization as axis a new stage of development which pushes the society and economy forward. Little cities and towns will get into a developed stage which increase stress both quantity and quality. Development and caused social and economical phenomena of little cities and towns have constituted one of projecting characteristic in the course of modernization in China, which has been formed urbanized road is taken international academic circles as a urbanized model in China. The model both has put forward challenge about generally recognized model which big and medium--sized cities have pushed forward, and have questioned about classification of traditional urban and rural areas and concerned policy. After Sir FeiXiaoTong has pushed forward a proposition which little cities and towns are a big problem. This has been initiated concern and study of little cities and towns at home. More and more people have studied on development of little cities and towns in the eastern developed regions since1978. But less people has systematically and deeply studied on mechanism of little cities and towns' development in the underdeveloped regions. There few theoretical and practical studies in the field, which this thesis based on to contribute to the development of little cities and towns in the less underdeveloped regions. By applying the fundamental principles of Regional Economic Geography and other theoretical achievements of industrial economics development economics as well as city planning. The paper studies systematically on mechanism of little cities and towns' development in the less underdeveloped regions, and probes into the general rules and of little cities and towns' development the less under developed regions.The paper consists of four chapters and three parts.The first chapter and the second chapter (the first part) begin with inspecting and redefining the concepts of underdevelopment and less underdeveloped. There systematically analyses basic feature and functional classification of little cities and towns' development in the less underdeveloped regions, elaborates the status of little cities and towns in the course of development of less underdeveloped regions. According as need of study, Tt introduces and criticizes theories of domestic and foreign of little cities and towns' development in the underdeveloped regions, promotes strategic direction of little cities and towns development.The third chapter of the paper (the second part) applies the fundamental principles of REG By taking the western region of China as a case. The chapter analyses interaction mechanism of the factors and elements of less underdeveloped regions, studies on developmental cause and general rule and concludes styles in the end. It is the key part in which the author tends to make some breakthroughs.The fourth chapter (the last part) is an analysis of a practical positive case. Based on the analysis of FengQing county's regional background and feature of little cities and towns development, which have studied in the former part. It analyses mechanism of little cities and towns development of different styles, and raise the way of the course of development. All is a practical positive study on the above theoretical study.
