Study On The Development Of Agricultural Products Processing Industry

In the past two decades' opening and reform, the market level of China's agriculture has been greatly improved, the comprehensive productive level has been remarkably enhanced and the supply-and-demand situation has been changed fundamentally. That is to say, the long-term supply shortness has been relieved and now balance can be reached. Nowadays most rural and urban residents lead a relative comfortable life, and the market demand plays an ever-increasingly important role in the development and orientation of the agriculture. Therefore, China's agriculture is confronted with a new problem: how to meet the new and multiple demands of urban residents and how to encourage farmers to use their surplus income. The agricultural products processing industry, as a backward industry for agriculture to link the ultimate demand, may help to solve this problem. So it is of great importance to develop this industry. Through a general analysis of the present situation of agricultural products processing, this thesis sums the characteristics of China's agricultural products processing industry and dwells on analyzing the existing problems and their causes. In addition, according to the experience of foreign counterparts, I've made some proposals on the future development of our agricultural products processing industry. The main ideas and opinions raised in this thesis are listed as follows:This dissertation consists of six sections:The first section is preface, which introduces the present situation of China's agriculture products processing industry. According to relative theories and data, the dissertation outlined characters to constructer, layout and organization of the agriculture products processing industry, and reflects the condition of nowadays development in whole.The second section evaluates the performance of different organizations, which are differentiated into four kinds by the intensity of relation between enterprise and farmers, in agricultural products processing industryemphatically. As being a dominant form, the integration of enterprise and farmers is illuminated in detail with many practical cases. The third section is about the existing problems and the causes. To analyze the problems more penetratingly, author examines the matters from three perspectives, such as industry organization, industry structure, and processing corporation. There are many problems; such as it is easy to start up the industry while difficult to quit, which leads to expansion at a low level, etc.The forth section is the development history and trend of this industry in advanced countries. This thesis illustrates the development and trend of this industry in the developed country in great detail. And then it discussed how to learn their experience to accelerate progress of our country's agricultural produce processing industry.The fifth section points out suggestions on the future development. According to the analysis above, this thesis proposes suggestions as to the developing guidance principle, important points and detailed strategies.
