In 1998, B. Joseph Pine II and James H. Gilmore put forward the idea that economy today is the experience economy appearing after the agrarian economy, the industrial economy and the service economy in their article titled WELCOME TO THE EXPERIENCE ECONOMY. From then on , it attracts the extensive concerns of domestic and international researcher and commerce personage to experience economy. In experience economy, experience as a kind of economic offering is emerging. This article tries to conduct a systematic research mainly on the tourism experience ,the goods offered by tourism industry in the experience economy. At First, by analyzing Chinese and English definitions of experience , describing it's multi-subject meaning ,studying the reason why experience is prevailing, so that we can achieve a general understanding of the meaning and essential character of experience as a kind of economic offering.The next, discuss tourism experience's connotation and essential character by analyzing and integrating the connotation and essential character of tourism and experience. On this basis, this article then sorts the examples relevant to tourism experience. Finally, the article ends with a summary of the important function of tourism experience in the tourism marketing.
