The meaning of travel marketing is a process of management which concerns to regarding profit as objective, discerning, predicting and meeting the tourist's demand. As a medium of collaboration the travel enterprise with the tourist, the function of travel marketing is becoming increasingly important, the strategy and management of the travel marketing has already become very keen in the modern tourist industry. At some extent, the marketing has existed since people need selling out the things they produced in order to survive. But, in the past decades, the change of the way of enterprise marketing and the marketing idea has come from the influence of economy, science and technology, etc. This is my thesis starting point.At present, the strategy and management of travel marketing has already become a bottleneck which restricts the development of our country's tourist industry, and that also has become an important factor which influences the international competitiveness of our country's tourist enterprise. Under the background of economical globalization, China accession to the WTO, information networking and modern tourist having become "new tourists", travel marketing innovation has already become an important strategy of breaking away from the developmental predicament of domestic tourist industry and improving tourist industry's international competitiveness. And this is also an important subject that needs to be answered urgently by both our country's travel theory circle and travel business circle. This is just my thesis original purpose.Modern information technology and travel electronic commerce represent a main developmental direction for modern tourist industry, travel marketing supported by Internet's technology has already become the key technology and means that modern tourist enterprises participate in international and domestic competition. So, traditional travel marketing is confronting the informational change, the problems of how to use the information technology to collect information, link up the market, lower cost and improve the service so as to improve the enterprise's competitiveness. This is exactly my thesis breakthrough point.The main theories of internal travel marketing and its current study conditions is my thesis theoretical foundation. So, this thesis surveys the main present internal theories of travel marketing and analysis these problems existing in those researches at first. The theoretical system of internal travel marketing is becoming gradually perfect, and those studies are mainly focused on the following 4 respects: tourist service marketing, travel market survey, travel marketing strategy and tactics and travel marketing management, etc. But, at the same time, there are still many issues in the theoretical research, such as lacking of innovation, breaking away from the practice demand of internal travel marketing and ignoring the technical research for travel marketing, etc. This reflects the fact that the theoretical research of internal travel marketing is lagging to a certain extent.The study on the current situation and problems of internal travel marketing practice is therealistic grounds for travel marketing innovation. At present, in the practice of internal travel marketing, according to the differences of subjects who participate in travel marketing, it can roughly be divided into two kinds of destination marketing led by government and travel enterprise marketing led by market. Travel marketing limited too much by government is questioned more and more seriously by every aspect. Travel enterprise marketing led by market should be the main developmental direction for internal travel marketing. But seen from practices of the internal travel marketing, a series of problems is especially worth paying much attention to. Namely, marketing means are single, scattered, traditional and backward.
