In the first 20 years of 21st century, under the overall steady international political economic environment, our society is more prosperous and stable with the deepening reform and continuously developed economy, which will result in a quicker and riper development in Chinese tourist industry. However, we are facing severe challenges to realize the grand goal of becoming world powerful traveling country, since competition in today's international tourism market is becoming more and more fierce and cruel. Thus it is the key action that we tackle the challenge to catch the general trend of market development of consumption and innovate and improve our traveling products. And to study tourist's travel behavior meet the need of further investigation of the tourist market. The business tour is a field huge, with keen competition of a demand on the international tourist market, our country has already accumulated some experience in its management in recent years, but has not established the corresponding market image all the time in the international market.This thesis regards travel behavior as the starting point, chooses the foreign commercial tourist in China as the research object, and analyses the travel behavior of foreign commercial tourists from several respects, on the basis of the synchronous market sample survey materials in six cities: Beijing , Shanghai, Guangzhou , Xi'an , Gui Lin , Kunming from July to August,2004, which was made for the fund project of national natural science "Study on travel behavior modes of China's different colony's external visitors"( 49571027)and a large amount of data analysis and treatment from 2000 to 2003. The thesis tries hard to summarize the travel behavior characteristics of different kinds of commercial tourist markets, expecting to offer the basis and guide to the tourism development, and business tour marketing of our country, thus raise the tourist earnings of our country, enrich the abundant traveling products and adjust the product structure of the travel, impel the tourist industry of our country to realize leap-type development, which have certain realistic meanings.The thesis consists of five parts. The first part introduces systematically theconcept of the travel behavior, the production of the travel behavior , the course of the travel behavior and the significance of the research on the business tour behavior.The second part analyses the structure of foreign commercial tourists in China, and according to the result of the investigation on the market, analyses the commercial tourist's proportion in the inbound tour, the ground structure, sex structure, age composition, occupational structure, schooling structure, and family's structure of the foreign commercial tourists in order to have an overall understanding of foreign commercial tourist coming to China.The third part discusses in detail the travel behavior of the foreign commercial tourists in China. On the basis of data analysis, different kinds of commercial tourists' travel behavior was analysed with regard to the travelers' ground, sex, age, job, degree of education, and family structure, from three aspects: travel decision behavior, travel space-time behavior, travel preference and eleven sub-aspects: the degree of anxiety for traveling, the way of getting information, influential factors for decision making, expenses for traveling, time stayed in China, times to China for traveling, traveling route in China, different ways to China, food preference when traveling, tourist commodities, and traveling project.The fourth part summarizes travel behavior mode of foreign commercial tourists in China and different kinds of commercial tourists' travel behavior mode on the basis of the third part.The fifth part is conclusion, summarizing the main views of this thesis.The innovation of this thesis lies in four respects:(1) It analyses the commercial tourists' travel behavior on the basis of the firsthand materials from the direct investigation of the foreign tourists in China by using some principles in the fields of economics, psychology, and geography etc., which has realistic meanings.(2) Adopt the difference of purpose of languages and quantize the law and method of weighted averages, quantitative analysis different kinds of commercial travel desire degree and different influence factor of tourist travel in China influence degree of decision to it, strengthen accuracy studied and technological guidance;(3) From two angles as definite preference and relative preference, to analyse the attitude of different kinds of commercial tourists towards travel diet , tourist commodities and travel project, etc., which results in a relatively overall conclusion.
