| Tourism in China has developed rapidly and become one of the main economy growth points in recent years. Tourism in Jingdezhen has also developed quickly in the same period. Revenue from tourism in Jingdezheng reached 5.1 billion yuan (RMP) in 2001, accounting for 4.9% in local GDP. However, compared with other regions in China, tourism in Jingdezhen is still far lag behind. This paper tries to analyse the structure of tourism in Jingdezheng, the necessity, the probability for tourism development in this city, the restrictive factors for tourism expansion. Countermeasures are given to further the tourism's development in Jingdezhen accordingly.This paper consists of four chapters.Chapter One: Introduction. In this chapter the author presents the purpose and methodology of the study, the structure of this paper and the relative principles applied in this research.Chapter Two: Study on the present situation of tourism development in JingdezhenIn this chapter, the author presents that Jingdezhen have got nowhere in its foreign tourism in recent years. Althought its number of domestic tourist have raised quickly at the same period, its domestic tourism capital average income have not increased. In 2001,the ratio of domestic tourist number to foreign tourist number is 70 '?l.As to the present situation of all sub-industries of tourism in Jingdezhen, the travel agency's number is few, only seven, its scale small, its economy benefit poor. There are nine star grade hotel in Jingdezhen, among which three are three star grade and seven are two star grade. Althought tourism traffic in Jingdezhen have achieved some progress, it still has a long way to meet the demand of tourism's development. The exploiture level of tourism's resource in Jingdezhen is low and its historical site should continue to restore. Jingdezhen lacks big entertainment site and its ecology tourism resource has not tapped better. The travel entertainment industry in Jingdezhen still stay in low level. The travel purchase industry in Jingdezhen has a higher status in its tourism. Among tourist's capital average expenditure in Jingdezhen, travel purchase account for 40%. Despite its higher status, travel purchase industry 's after service, finance service and market management level are hanging behind in Jingdezhen. Except porcelain goods, other product which could attract tourist are also few.Chapter Three: Analysis on the pre-conditions, effectiveness and restrictive factors for tourism in JingdezhenIn this chapter, the author presents the advantageous & restrictive factors fortourism development in Jingdezhen. The advantage factors are brand superiority, resource superiority and better region orientation etc. The functions of tourism in Jingdezhen have multiplier effect to national economy, the resource allocation optimization effect and the effect of industry structure high-gradization, etc. The main restrict factors of tourism in Jingdezhen are the factor of city construction level, the factor of ideology and policy circumstance etc.Chapter Four: Counter-measures for tourism development in JingdezhenIn this chapter, the author puts forward the overall thought and main principles to develop tourism in Jingdezhen. The overall thought is: with government as its leader, with porcelain history and culture as its support, with market as its guider, with economy benefit as its core, integrating the exploitation with protection of its historical culture inheritance site, integrating tour with commerce, propelling its national and international tourism all together, Jingdezhen should exploit special tour resource and ecology tour resource with great pain, establish its preponderant tour item, adjust and optimize its tourism product structure constantly ,build its fundamental and receptive facilities , make the six sub-industries develop harmoniously and form much suitable tourism system.
