A Study On Ecological Consumption Of The Vast Development In Western China

The beginning of the new century saw the significant strategic policy of Western Exploration issued by the central government led by the CPC. The Western Exploration is a comprehensive and systematic project lased on the construction of the ecological environment. Flow should we tackle the ecological environment effectively there avoiding the lesson of "pollute it first, tackle it then"? In this thesis, the author holds that the key solution to it is to develop the ecological consumption in the western areas which will stimulate the ecological production, change the traditional ways of production and consumption in the western areas which will stimulate the ecological production, change the traditional ways of production and consumption, find a way of sustainable development, Which, eventually, leads to the harmonious development of the ecology, economy and culture of Chinese society as a whole. The paper, consisting of four parts , is the author's tentative endeavor to put the theories of the ecological consumption into the under way practice of the Western Exploration, focusing on the necessity of developing the ecological consumption, the problems and possible solutions the them in the whole process with an eye kept on other countries' experiences.Part one is concerned with the significance of developing the ecological consumption in the process of the Western exploration which plays an important role in constructing the ecological environment and opening up western areas as well, and in the economical, cultural developement of China as a whole. Serious attention is put to some problems in the process of western exploration in part two in which the author maintains the beautification of the ecological environment is of great importance in terms of meeting public ecological requiments on one hand and of devel-oping the ecological industries providing the public with ecological consumer goods on the other. The problems consist of ecological ones such as wafer shortage, soil erosion and sandy waste, and pulltion in western cities etc, and those with respect to producing ecological consumer goods in the development of ecological consumption.The following part holds the view that something can be learned from other countries' practice of developing ecological consumption. For instance, regional ecological construction can meet public ecological needs; ecological industries can provide the public with ecological consumer goods.In the final part, some specific measures are put forward on how to develop ecological consumption which include: enhance public awareness of ecological consumption; tackle and forster harmonious ecological environment to meet public ecological needs; develop ecological industries and consumer goods. And finally some measures on how to manage the process of developing the ecological consumption as a whole are also mentioned in this part.
