Great changes have taken place in world economy in the past few years. It has been an inevitable trend for our SMEs to undertake the internationalized operation. An enterprise will surely fail the market competition unless it can adapt to the new trend. Since 1979, our export-oriented economy, especially our foreign trade in which the Chinese SMEs play vital roles, contributes to the continuously rapid growth of national economy. With the development of world economic integration and our entering into WTO, Chinese SMEs, accounting for about nearly 99% of all enterprises, will be confronted with more opportunities and challenges. Based on our SMEs' practice of internationalization, the thesis analyzes their advantages and disadvantages, and puts forward the concerned suggestions.This thesis consists of four parts as follows:Part one, made up of three sections, deals with Chinese SMEs' division standards, the intension of SMEs internationalized operation, and the concerned theories respectively.Part two, including two sections, is concerned with general situation of Chinese SMEs' internationalized operation. Section one is about the necessity by which Chinese SMEs develop their internationalized operation at present. On the basis of full and accurate data, section two discusses present conditions and characters of Chinese SMEs' internationalized operation from the following three aspects: export trade, utilization of FDI, and overseas investment.Adopting SWOT analytic method, part three studies the feasibility of ChineseSMEs' internationalized operation systematically. And it is composed of four sections, which probe respectively into the strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats of Chinese SMEs.Part four is about improvement measures and suggestions, including three sections. From the point of enterprises, section one puts forward a series of strategic measures, which can assist Chinese SMEs in internationalizing their operation. The following section studies Chinese SMEs' choices of their internationalized operation modes. And the last one analyzes the establishment of circumstances in favor of Chinese SMEs' internationalized operation.
