Research On International Competitiveness Of China's Textile Industry

For long time textile industry was a pillar industry of china. Since China implemented reformation policy, it developed rapidly and contributed to China's export, accumulation of capital and employment greatly. However, after the middle term of the 1990's,China's textile industry came into a difficult period, it began to fall under the puzzlement of a series of problems: overmuch production lasting decline of profit ability of state-owned enterprises, lasting loss of industry. Why the increase of production and export resulted in lasting loss of industry for years? It is necessary to the research the international competitive power of China's textile industry. With the development of trade liberalization, international competition became severer and severer. According to a single industry, its comprehensive strength lied on its international competitive power. By normative analysis and positive analysis , quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, this paper researched and appraised the international competitive power of China's textile industry from various angles, analyzed the factors affecting the international competitive power of China's textile industry, at last, the author gave some advice on improving the international competitive power of China's textile industry. This paper consists of three parts:The first part is the basis of this paper. In this part, the author introduced some theories about international competitive power of industry and the development of China's textile industry.The second part is the core of this paper. Firstly , the author analyzed and appraised the international competitive power of China's textile industry from four aspects of competitive ability , competitive potential , competitive strength , competitive circumstances, concluded four conclusion: the international competitive power of China's textile industry still had some advantages, the advantages inclined to weaken , the international competitive power of branch industries was in equable , the advantages was gained by the increasing quantity of production and export; Secondly, on the basis of the above analysis, the author analyzed the factors affecting the international competitive power of China's textile industry; At last, the authoranalyzed the impact of China's joining WTO on the international competitive power of China's textile industry.In the last part, on the basis of the above analysis and research, the author gave some advice on maintaining and improving the international competitive power of China's textile industry.
