As market competition becoming more and more intensive and customer requirements changing more and more fast in current market circumstance, there are many profound changes taking place in traditional manufacturing enterprise. In order to survive and develop, enterprise must turn to advanced manufacturing stratagem. The common characteristics of Concurrent Engineering, Agile Supply Chain Management, Agile Manufacturing and Virtual Manufacturing is that they all emphasize process integration and process reengineering, and this is the apparent distinction from traditional manufacturing technology, which improve their design level, manufacturing means and productivity simply by manufacturing technology. Advanced manufacturing technologies emphasize integration of management technology, manufacturing technology and information technology and reengineering business process which is not reasonable to adapt themselves to market circumstance changing fast and promote themselves competition. Process Modeling, which defines accurately business process of enterprise by formalizing language to analyzing and optimizing process, is the important fundament to business process analyzing and business process reengineering.This paper first dissertates advanced manufacturing technologies' requires to Business Process Reengineering. Secondly, it discusses Business Process Reengineering and the relations between Business Process Reengineering and Continuous Improvement. Thirdly, it dissertates process integration and gives the rule-based method of business process simplification, which is the means in principle to Business Process Reengineering, including: simplification based on perspectives of management concept-deleting activities which is not necessary and no value added, simplification based on process information flow analyzing Hyper-graph-integration of activities and process structure optimizing using information system-process integration. Following this, gives instance of process simplification based on rules.
