With the economical globalization movement, the magnificent impact has been achieved with the reduction in tariffs and a tendency of trade liberalization emerged. At the meanwhile, it demands intensely that the combination of economical trade and environment protection as the enviornmemt-friendly consciousness strengthened by the human beings. The protective methods in international trade has changed greatly under this circumstances, with the gradual elimination of traditional barriers in tariffs and non-tariffs and the Green-barrier in protection food safety has been much set up. As we know that the Green-barrier has been the most concealed trade-protection method and is hard to deal with.China is a country with agriculture production and agricultural product process as its major portions in its home and aboard economy, and how to promote the agriculture production and agricultural product process in the international trade has been the focus to the Government, the scientists and technicians in agriculture and the related agricultural enterprises. After the access to the WTO, the most barrier is other than the traditional barriers in tariffs and non-tariffs but the Green-barrier set up by some countries(or area) for protection of its own trade benefits. It indicates the magnificent interests to China to develop green food industry in overcoming the Green barriers established by other countries, be more competitive in the international market and facilitating Chinese agricultural economy and increasing the peasants' incomings.In this article, it estimated the situation of Chinese agricultural products commence in international trade during the year of 1999-2002, gave a brief introduction to the WTO and the related information about the green food as well as the status quo about Chinese green food industry, it also analyzed the cause how the Green-barrier come into being, the impact to Chinese agricultural product in aboard trade and the measures for overcoming the Green-barrier, it presents the main strategy on developing green food industry and promoting Chinese agricultural products trade in the world.
