Under the current world economic conditions the role of trade for developing countries is more important than anytime before. But many developing countries especially the poorest countries have failed to benefit from the trade liberalization due to their own policy and institutional shortcomings but also importantly the severe impact of trade barriers against their goods in developed countries. After the two oil crises there has been a new tendency of protectionlism in developed countries. The tariff and all kinds of non-tariff barriers of developed countries remain much higher on many comparative advantage products exported by developing countries which not only prevent the developing countries from getting greater quantities of their goods into the markets of developed countries but also have a great influence on the distribution of trade benefits, most of which have been gained by developed countries and the interests of developing countries have been severely damaged. The key problems faced by developing countries is how to break the trade barriers of developed countries as result of abtainning more profits through the effective measures. This paper has tried to be discussed the impact of trade barriers of developed countries on the economy and trade of developing countries from the angle of term of trade and the strategy that the developing countries should use during the course of coping with the trade barriers and improving the term of trade.
