The Method Research On Core Competence Identification Of The Enterprise Based On Extension Theory

Core competence is the final source of competing advantage continuously for enterprise. If enterprise wants to succeed in the competition, it must consolidate and develop the core competence of enterprise to optimize the resource of core competence for boosting up the competition strength of enterprise. Yet when enterprise uses the idea of core competence from the point of strategy, it is the most difficulty to know what and where it possesses core competence. Therefore it has importantly academic and practical meaning in identifying core competence of enterprise rightly that we study the method on identifying core competence.Firstly, this paper sums up the status quo of studying on core competence, reviews and compares the existent methods of core competence identification. And it analyzes and discusses the core competence from four aspects, connotation, characters, determinant factors and forms of exhibiting. There into it explains some concepts which can be confused easily.Secondly, this paper discusses extension theory, extension identification method and variable weight principle. Then it brings forward a new-style method of core competence identification. In the research of the method, it integrates the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) with the variable weight principle to make the extension identification method adapt to core competence identification; On the basis of analysing theory and enterprise, it designs identification index system which is applied to machine manufacture enterprise. According to the index system, it sets up matter-element model of core competence identification.Finally, according to steps of identifying core competence and extension identification method, this paper identifies the core competence of Z Corporation which proves the method scientific and feasible.The innovation of this paper is as follows: it designs a manipulative index system of core competence identification which bases the concept and character of core competence, and analyzes the index system by extension theory; it sets up identification matter-element model of core competence which is the base of extension identification method; it confirms the variable weight coefficient of the index by the variable weight principle and calculates the degree of dependence by the variable weight synthesis. This optimizes the extension identification method.
