Research On The Auto Industry Quality Information Management System Based On ISO 9000

According to a statistic, the quantity of effective QMS certificates issued by CNAB accredited certification bodies have reached 96,715 by the end of 2003. Among them, more than 5000 are issued to enterprises whose specialty range is in "manufactured of the other transporter". It's reported by CHINA AUTO INDUSTRY ANNUAL that there are about 930 complete vehicle manufactories, about 3000 parts enterprises and nearly 2000 enterprises engaged in motorcycle and motorcycle parts manufacturing of economical production scale in China. Accordingly, it is computed that over 80 percent of auto industry enterprises have been ISO 9001:2000 registered. Therefore people are getting more and more concern about the certification effectiveness.The author has engaged in auto industry quality certification for nearly 8 years and has audited about 500 auto enterprises. Although enterprises managers are quite different in terms of attitude to QMS certification and quality conscious, they are generally divided into two kinds: one is expected to promote QM level through QMS certification, the other is just want to get the certificate for markets concerning. So far in China there has no information to show which kind is the majority. However, a questionnaire conducted by Russian Certification Research Institute reported that more than half of enterprises accepting QMS certificate just for markets concerns, and only less than 9% investigated enterprises were on the basis of improving product quality and competitive capability. People engaged certification should alert to such result.Under this situation, it is a effective method by means of quality information manage system to promote effective application of ISO9001:2000 Standard.This article focally discusses the establishment of QIMS in order to provide a route to promote the QMS operation.The article clear-out the urgency and necessary of establishing QIMS by analyzing of quality certification implementation. It also clarifies the inevitability of QIM for Enterprise management development based on the QM trend. It elaborates the action of monitoring and controlling through set forth the content of information management. It illustrates the identified method of information and management way through expounding the identifying and managing process of auto industry QI. It illustrates the principal, achieving objects, and managing flow-process through the basic faction analysis and information classification. At the end of this article, through discussing the establishment of primary QIMS SOFTWARE, the author not only explains the QIMS is achievable and in stage but also clarifies the real significance of implementing of the QIM in Auto industry.
