It is a general phenomenon in our times to develop farmers' specialized cooperative. Although the farmers' specialized cooperative has existed in China for quite a long time, people's understanding of it is still comparatively superficial and its growth and performance are far from satisfactory in practice. Therefore, it will be of obvious theoretical and practical value to take farmers' specialized cooperative as the research object and to systematically probe into its reconstruction and growth in our country. This thesis will cover the following issues successively. What are cooperative and farmers' specialized cooperative? Why is it necessary to develop farmers' specialized cooperative? Why does it lag behind in China? How to promote its growth? According to the above arrangement, the thesis is divided into six parts, namely, the introduction, the conclusion, and the body, which is further divided into four parts. The introduction presents a brief account of such issues as the causes of choosing the topic, the value of the topic, the historical evolution and the current situation of its research, the general arrangement of the thesis, and problems to be solved, etc.In part one of the body, the author generally defines the cooperative, in terms of the definition, types, the basic principles, and the essential features. According to the thesis, cooperative, operated through volunteered combination and common enterprise of democratic management, is an autonomic organization to satisfy common economic and social demands. There are various types of cooperative, among which the specialized cooperative is the main form of farmers' cooperative in today's China. At present, cooperative of all types in the whole world universally follow seven basic principles. Cooperative is the combination of laborers instead of capital, and has its unique aim, purpose and economic relations. The second part of the body probes into the important functions of farmers' specialized cooperative, aiming at improving the awareness of the necessity to cultivate the cooperative. The thesis summarizes the basic functions of farmers' specialized cooperative as two major respects, namely, the economic functions and the social functions. The economic functions are mainly manifested in its importance as the way to perfect the dual management system, as the platform to realize agricultural modernization, as the carrier to advance agricultural industrialization, as the support to promote the international competitiveness of agriculture, and as the channel to increase farmers' income. And the social functions are mainly reflected in its importance as the media to strengthen farmers' quality, as the arm to maintain farmers' interests, as the foundation to ensure rural social stability, as the support to promote the all-round rural development, and as the lever to implement government's macro adjustments and controls. The third part of the body analyzes in detail the current factors that obstruct the growth of farmers' specialized cooperative. The author holds that the development of farmers' specialized cooperative in our country lagged far behind mainly because of three reasons. Firstly, both the government and farmers are short of full understanding of farmers' specialized cooperative. Secondly, the external environment is not favorable, which is mainly embodied in incomplete development of market, the lack of legal status, the improper external interference, the difficult circulation of capital, and the deficiency of cooperative talents and successful models. Thirdly, the internal operation is irregular, which is mainly embodied in the vagueness of property rights, the incompleteness of internal mechanism, and the limitation of business scope. Furthermore, the incompleteness of internal mechanism mainly refers to the incompleteness in mechanism of organization and management, of supervision and restriction, and of distribution of interests. As the core of the thesis, the fourth part of the body discusses the approaches to promoting the growth of f...
