On The Modernization Of Legal Culture In Building A Well-off Society In An All-round Way

Legal culture refers to all those of people's notion, theories and values concerning the phenomenon of law and the corresponding modes of legal behavior.The topic of the thesis is the modernization of legal culture in building a well-off society in an all-round way. In the beginning of the new century, the system of socialist market economy has entered the preliminary stage and China begins to build, in an all-round way, a well-off society which should be ruled by law. In order to build such a society, it needs not only modern legal system but also modern legal culture. However, due to the influence of deeply- rooted Chinese traditional legal culture, building a nation ruled by law is still very difficult. Therefore, it is very valuable both in theoretical and practical senses to study the issue of the modernization of legal culture.According to the demands of the new situation and new mission of building a well-off society in an all-round way, and based on the general theory of legal culture and the rule of developing Chinese legal culture, the thesis pinpoints the goal of the modernization of legal culture in the well-off society, namely, to build a type of socialist law-ruled legal culture with Chinese characteristics and to realize ruling the country by law. Furthermore, it discusses how to promote the modernization of Chinese legal culture from following aspects: Constructing socialist market economy, the political civilization, the advanced culture, the citizenry society and participating in the course of globalization.The thesis is guided by historic materialism, and makes use of the comparative method, historic method and analytic method in social substantial evidences.
