Research On Model Of Enterprise Decision Support System Based On Data Warehouse

Today the competition between enterprises virtually is a competition of information and knowledge. The decision-making of enterprises is becoming more and more important. More and more managers have known that the conventional information systems are not able to provided them the correct and comprehensive information and knowledge in time and met their need for decision-making. As an increasingly popular technology, data warehouse can be regarded as an information infrastructure that enables businesses to access and analyze detailed data and trends. Foremost, data warehouse presents data to end users through a natural, intuitive data model. With this navigational style, end users can view and understand the data in their databases more effectively, thereby allowing organizations to better recognize the value of their data and supporting the manager by providing him the information and enlightening him on new ideas. First, the basic concepts and traits of data warehouse are depicted in this thesis, including the concepts and traits of data mart. The development of decision support system is introduced in brief. The components and traits of decision support system based on data warehouse are also presented, especially the application of some classes of data access and analysis tools is included.Secondly, the origination and development of customer relationship management system, which has become a hotspot of information system, is represented. Then some principles and problems about data warehouse during the design and implementation phases are discussed based on an instance.Finally, an enterprise cost management and control system based on data warehouse is represented. This system takes XG-CIMS as its project background, and is developed under the guideline of the theory of Cost Accounting. Under the support of the integrated information platform, this system imports the enterprise basic data from database, then after correlative calculating, analyzing and comparing, it tries to solve the problem of the cost minimizing from the following four aspects: supplying,producing, selling and managing etc. At the same time, the future requirements of establishment of a comprehensive data warehouse have been taken into consideration as well.
