Workshop Based On The Data Warehouse Decision-making Support System

With the increasing competition of the market, the quality of the decision making has become one of crucial factors for enterprises to survive and succeed in competitions. Many enterprises have put forward the demand of setting up Decision Support System (DSS) on the basis of the Management Information System (MIS) for self-developing, which has promoted the DSS develop at full speed. How to draw useful knowledge form the large number of business data to support decision making in policy-making layer is the key problem that we face. Therefore, the paper discusses and develops the Workshop Decision Support System for workshop layer of enterprises on the basis of Xi'an Aero-Engine Corporation (XAEC)'s information project.Firstly, the thesis discusses the characteristic of the decision making in workshop layer, presents the architecture and function dividing with full consideration of the actual demand and the integration with other subsystems of Work Shop Manager, and establishes the information model with dimensional modeling and IDEFlx method.Secondly, the thesis sets up several workshop data marts with different themes. establishes the workshop data architecture framework, and puts forward workshop oriented OLAP.Then the thesis develops the system under the B/S architecture, adopting the technology based on component, with Asp.net as the desktop tool and Oracle 8.16 as the database management system.Finally, the paper discusses and analyses the result, presents the idea to improve the system.The No.32 workshop of XAEC has put into use the Workshop Decision Support System, which has greatly supported the decision making in workshop.
