Under the impact of waves of economic globalization, urbanization and industrial districts, some Chinese enterprises located in old industrial bases have to adapt themselves to a fast changing external environment, adjust their regions actively, apply new regional strategy and promote their competitive edge as the regions where they are located have turned into a bottleneck in their further development. In such background of the times, some enterprises' regional strategies have escalated from a subordinate position to a dominant one, and enterprises' regional strategic theories are thus formulated. This thesis aims to construct regional strategic theory and targets Qianfeng Company as the research object, starting from analyzing its external environment and the internal capacity to gain a insight of the main deficiencies and loopholes blocking the development of the enterprises and finding that all reasons direct to its original region orientation. Therefore it is judged that the bottleneck of its development is the regional orientation and its dominant strategy is regional strategy instead of industry strategy. By careful consideration and reasoning, it's found the best place for Qianfeng Company is the Chengdu Hightechnology District, and the application of the regional strategy should be propped by the enterprise's function strategy, organization fabric and enterprise culture. Through the analysis and research of this company, it's found that the enterprise strategy consists of industry strategy andregional strategy. Industry strategy plays a dominant role in most cases, but under special external conditions, regional strategy can also gain a dominant position. Nevertheless, traditional strategic theories all place their prime emphasis on the orientation of the industry options. This thesis attempts to develop the traditional strategic theory on a basis of regional theory and enterprise strategic theory, and set forth a new means and framework. To shape the best configuration of the enterprise resources via rational region options, which is called enterprises' regional strategic theories. Above which, strategic alliance of relevant enterprises was formed on the catenarian industry. With effective use of external resources and configuration of internal resources optimization, core competitive edge of enterprises was promoted ultimately. That is to determine the enterprises' leading strategy according to various types of bottlenecks in their development and conduct corresponding strategic analysis and application after viewing their internal and external environments. Traditional strategic theories are used if the dominant strategy is industry strategy. If the dominant strategy is regional strategy, I try to find the most favorable location to better the enterprises' competitive ability and apply the regional strategy by the propping of deliberate planning, the function escalation, organization structure and the culture of the enterprises. This thesis provides a way for reference for those enterprises located in old industrial bases in inner cities to exercise the adjustment of regional strategy.
