A Study On Reform Process Of Agricultural Extension System At County Level In Market Economy

The issue of agriculture is always the most important one in economy development in China. In the 21st century, the agriculture and the economy in China have come to a new developing stage that facing the challenge of entry of WTO.In this study, the author described the status and the constraints of agricultural extension system in Guanyun County through the review of the reform process of agricultural extension system from the situation of planning economic based to economic market oriented system in Guanyuan County, and also put forward some recommendation at end of the paper for further improvement based on the finding of the study. The study showed that the results of the problems analysis and experiences of agricultural extension activities after the description of the history of the agriculture technology extension system.The recommendation mainly focus on the following points: (1) to introduce new ideas to agricultural extension organization system; (2) to improve the system by diversified extension methodology; (3) to strengthen the reform by improving extension organization to be network with the styles in combination of education, marketing association; improving extension management based on principles and regulation of market economics; improving extension methods in diversification; improving extension services in connection with a package technology; improving extension mechanism by improvement of the linkage between research, production and teaching; and improving extension input in diversified resources.
