Comparative Study On County Economic Development Pattern In Different Development Period

As the important part of national economy and the active factors to improve the social development, county economy has made great progress, especially since China implements its reform and opening-up policies in the last two decades. However, the development of county economy in different regions is unbalanced. There is a great gap between its general development and the need of people, which will not only affect livelihoods of 80% of Chinese population, but also the overall development of national economy. Therefore, it is very important and urgent to study the economic development patterns of different counties. In this thesis, the authors analyze the present situation of the development of county economy in different periods and try to find out their characteristics and key issues affecting the development. Case analysis was carried out by selecting three pilot counties from south, central and north of Jiangsu Province. The authors investigated the major positive and negative factors affecting county economy development on the base of case studies and second-hand data analysis. At last, the authors made some suggestions on county economy development in the new development period.The thesis is composed of six parts. Part I: Introduction, mainly including the study backgrounds, key terms definition and the introduction of two types of counties. Part II comparison of the present situation of two counties economy development. Part III: Comparison of the negative effects on county economy. Part IV: Principles and reasons for the promotion of county economy development. Part V: Suggestions and countermeasures for improving the development of county economy in the new situation. PartVI: Conclusions. The authors concluded, although there are some difficulties existing in county economy development, generally speaking, there are also many advantages. As the governments attaching more and more importance on county economy, deepening reforms and widening opening-up policy, promoting the rural urbanization, adjusting the economic structure and improving the infrastructures, county economy development will have a bright future.
