Study On The Rural Economic Growth Of Hebei Province In An Era Of Knowledge Economy

Hebei is a large agricultural province in China. The development of agriculture and rural economy is of vital importance to the social stability and national economic development directly. Because economic growth is an essential indicator weighing the quality of economy , scholars have made various achievements within the concerning field, especially the economic development in agriculture. As to Hebei, a province with limited resources and a large population, how to accelerate the rural economic growth is an important subject. Integrated the qualitative and quantitative methods, the paper analyzed the factors (natural resources, capital, labor, technological progresses, social systems, etc.) affecting the rural economic growth in Hebei province with the first method, and measured to what a extent each factor had influenced the current rural economic growth in Hebei with quantitative methods (gray related degrees method, the whole ratio of factor productivity, etc.), many effective measures are proposed in the paper as well. After the analyses to the transfer of the rural economic growth format in Hebei, the paper argues that Hebei is undergoing a transfer from extensive economic growth to an intensive one in rural economy. The paper proposes that rural economic development in Hebei must depend on technological progresses, labor quality improvements, and the economic growth format transfer mentioned above. This subject has provided an indicator system to measure the rural kownledge-driven economy of Hebei innovatively. The paper hasalso given some advices on how to face up to the challenges of knowledge-driven economy in a resources-limited province like Hebei, and to realize the sustainable development in rural economy eventually.The research of this subject can be a real example to testify the new economic growth theory; and also the basis for policy-making departments to formulate relevant policies, besides, this paper could also be advisable to governments, investors or administrators.
