Political party diplomacy, as an important content in current international relations, plays an indispensable role in advancing relations among countries. For this reason, more attentions have been placed by all over countries from simple relations among countries in the past to inter-party relations nowadays, that is, the improvement of relations among countries by building and developing inter-party relations. In the new century, the Communist Party of China continues, based on the four principles on the relations among political parties, to develop brand-new relations with various parties and party-organizations in terms of communication and cooperation, and it has achieved remarkable successes. It is under this background that Mao Zedong' and Deng Xiaoping' ideologies of inter-party relations are taken as the object of study. The thesis aims at drawing a frame of developing thread and main contents on the two leaders' ideologies, and it initially probes into their commons and differences, and the reasons that result in divergences through comparison. The thesis consists of five parts except for introduction. The first part touches on rudimentary understanding of inter-party relations such as its definition, difference between inter-party relations and relations among countries, and initial thought and practice of Marxism. The second part sets forth the developing course and main contents regarding the two leaders' ideologies of inter-party relations, in order to provide historical and theoretical basis for later contrast analysis. The third part inquires into their common grounds, that is, the position of international peaceful environment in favor of China, and the cardinal principles of independence and equality for which Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping worked hard. The fourth part makes a contrast and emphasizes on completely different attributes between the two leaders from the angle of partner and starting-point in inter-party communication. The reasons of ideological difference are analyzed in the last part from three aspects: different situations internally and externally, divergent international strategy and sharp contrast between the two leaders' characteristics.
