| If the Chinese Communist Party which is in power for a long term would like to follow the laws governing the social development, and respect the laws of the Chinese Communist Party in power, then the CPC must loyally represents the fundamental interests of the broad masses and the Chinese nation. The CPC has already been one that supported by the broad masses, and it's countrywide, and it's the party of the broad masses, but under the new historical conditions, according to the new needs of the social development and the fact of the changing of the social stratum, it's still an important mission to enlarge further the basis of the masses of the CPC in the rural areas.The relevant problems about enlarging the basis of the masses of the CPC in the rural areas are mainly discussed in this article. According to this article, at present the peasantry refers to not only those who are engaged in farming, but also those who aren't actually engaged in farming but with the peasant status. Their characteristics mainly shows from four aspects: A. The quantity and proportion of the population are bigger. B. The situation that agriculture is the main part isn't radically changed. C. The position that the market is the main body is establishing step by step. D. The tendency that the peasantry is broken up is speeded up.The peasantry, as one of the most basic class of our country's society , the structure of this class always in the course of dividing and developing. After the foundation of the new China, the class structure of our country's peasant has experienced properly three historical changing, and formed three important developing periods. The first is the land reform period. The second is from the agriculture cooperation to the reform and opening period ago. The third is during the rural economic system reform and developing socialism market economic period.As the main basis of the masses of the CPC in the rural areas, the historical position and effect of the peasantry aren't allowed to be looked down upon. At first, the peasantry is the main dependable power of China revolution; The second, the peasantry is the main pushing power of China reform; The third, the peasantry is the important power for the construction of the socialism modernization; The fourth, the peasantry is the dependable alliance of the working class.To enlarge the basis of the masses of the CPC in the rural areas, its theoretical foundations are showed from the following aspects: 1.
