This paper makes a systematic study of the situation of security in the Korean Peninsular in the beginning of the new century. First,it explores the origin and developmental process of the situation of security in the korean Peninsular. Second, It analyzes some features and impacts of the situation of security In the Korean Peninsular after the cold war. Third, It forecasts the perspectives of the situation of security in the Korean Peninsular in the new century. Finally, it puts forward Chinaˊs strategic countermeasures based on the impacts of the situation of security in the Korean Peninsular upon current China.For example, China should stick to the principle of keeping power balanc in order to establish the system of multilateral secure cooperation China should be active in the"six-side talks"in order to improve the relations between North Korea and South Korea :China should make an effort to Cooperate and Korea and exchange with North Korea and South Korea; China should keep himself stable and developing. The researches mentioned aboved mentioned researches will not only improve academic circles studies of the Korean Peninsular,s issue, but also help China to make strategies towards The Northeast Asia and develop the relationship between China and the Korea peninsularSolving the problem of DPRK nuke program tends to lasting for a long time, and thus the US, Japan and the ROK have made corresponding policy modifications for the purpose of occupying an advantageous position in formulating a new framework of security cooperation in the Northeast Asia. The US has strengthened its efforts both at negotiating table and in military deployment in dealing with the DPRK, but hasn't yet taken the DPRK as its major strategic attacking target. Japan's policy toward the DPRK has tilted right. And Japan has made up its mind to pursue a policy of exerting more influence on formulating the new framework of security cooperation in Northeast Asia. The ROK is striving for adding equal shade with regard to US-South Korea alliance and playing a dominant role in solving the issue of DPRK nuclear program. By resolving the DPRK nuke problem to give impetus establishing a multipolar dominant framework of security cooperation in Northeast Asia, China can make lots of accomplishment.In light of accelerating political reunification in Korean Peninsular; ever-deepening of economic interdependence of China, Japan and South Korea; ever-deepening dependence of US economic recovery and development on economic development and financial and trade support of countries in Northeast Asia; On the one hand, the Bush administration has devoted its efforts to strengthen US forward military deployment in the region, enhancing US military deterrence toward countries in the region and responding interfering capability. As far as ROK is concerned, though President Roh Moo-Hyun has modified his policy towards US, DPRK respectively, and stressed that military alliance with US is the corner stone of ROK security strategy and foreign policy. And the focus of ROK policy towards DPRK has turned to a direction of emphasizing on "Absolute intolerance of DPRK possession of nuclear weapons", and lowing expectation on political reunification in Korean peninsular in the foreseeable future. And while insisting on "Peace and Prosperity Policy", President Roh streses that perspective of North_ South economic cooperation depends on DPRK substantial concession in regards to its nuclear arms programs. Yet, President Roh has always emphasized the only possible way to resolve DPRK problem through dialogue, and he is doing his best to avoid military confrontation with DPRK and kept a distance in regard to imposing sanctions on DPRK. China needs to take more practical and effective measures to push forward the development of Sino- ROK strategic partnership.
