This paper makes a systematic study of the situation of security in the Korean Peninsular in the beginning of the new century. First, it explores the origin and developmental process of the situation of security in the Korean Peninsular. Second, it analyses some features and impacts of the situation of security in the Korean Peninsular after the cold war. Third, it forecasts the perspectives of the situation of security in the Korean Peninsular in the new century. Finally, it puts forward China's strategic countermeasures based on the impacts of the situation of security in the Korean Peninsular upon current China. For example, China should stick to the principle of keeping powers balanced in order to establish the system of multilateral secure Cooperation; China should be active in the " four-side talks " in order to improve the relations between North Korea and South Korea; China should make an effort to Cooperate and exchange with North Korea and South Korea; China should keep himself stable and developing. The above- mentioned researches will not only improve academic circles' studies of the Korean Peninsular issue, but also help China to make strategies towards Northeast Asia and develop the relations between China and the Korean Peninsular.
