Comparision Between FSC And ISO Systems For Forest Certification

In this thesis, the author analyzes the current status of forest certification in both domestic scale and the international scale on the basis of reviewing large amount of literature. A system study of comparisons between the two popularly used certification system-ISO 14000 and FSC certification system has been carried out in this thesis. The author believes that under current forest managing conditions, ISO's processing standards are more suitable than FSC's performance standards when carrying on forest certification in China. But for the forestlands with high level of forest management and the enterprises, which make European market as export destination, FSC certification system is suitable. At the same time, China should accelerate the peace of making our own forest certification system, be in line international certification system and make mutual recognition with international certification systems. This will provide admission for our wood products to enter international market.
