In the 21st century, our State-Owned Commercial Bank facing to the open economy, the competitive market. It's a question for urgently study that can she immediately improve the competition power for exist and develop in the market.In the past more than twenty years, our banking market is turning from monopolization into competition. Especially after we accession into WTO, the state-owned commercial bank enter the age of all-round competition, face the strike of foreign-owned commercial bank and the compete of inter-bank.Facing up to the fierce financial competition, as for as the state-owned commercial bank concerned, it is a rare opportunity, even a critical challenge. In the article, we center on the implication of the state-owned commercial bank competitiveness, design the bank competitive quota system, compare the competitiveness between the state-owned commercial bank, foreign banks and share-holding banks. We can find the competitiveness of the state-owned commercial bank is far behind of other banks. At the same time, base on SWOT analyses, find gaps and causes.It is a complicated systems engineering to improve the competitiveness of the state-owned commercial bank. We think the state-owned commercial bank should, first, construct a good environment of tax, law and financial supervise. Secondly in accordance with rules of modern commercial bank system to reform the property right, Corporate Governess Structure and so on. Thirdly, speed up allocate resources optimally, activate financial innovation, realize mixing operation and Internationalization Management. Last, strengthen competition and cooperate with inter-bank and Non-Bank Financial Institutes, improve competitiveness uninterrupted and withstand intensive competitions.
