The First Morrill Act was adopted on July 2,1862. From then on, series of vocational bills were established to improve the development of vocational education in America. Therefore, it is obvious that the history of American vocational education can be regarded as that of American vocational legislation.By implementing these legislatives, remarkable achievements had been made in American vocational education. Not only appropriations were contributed to vocational education annually, but also vocational education system was established gradually. Accordingly, a great many of workers have been trained in these years. Even more, women and blacks have gained vocational education opportunities in America, etc.This study tries to reveal the characteristic and influence of American vocational legislation through describing and analyzing it. Furthermore, some implications and suggestions are derived to Chinese vocational education development.
