The Study On The Forming Mechanism Of Technology Standard

With the development of economy, technologies advance rapidly and technology standards are paid attention by people more and more. Technology standards become important on not only technology itself but also trade. After research on the complex relationship between technology standard and technical innovation, the conclusion is that the forming mechanism of technology standards for different technologies varies, because of theirs different characters. So according to the new character embodied in new trend of social technology development, such as high-speedy, network and systematization, the author brings the forming mechanism of technology standards into the research frame of traditional industry and IT industry. Paper highlights research on the standard forming mechanism of the IT industry, and argues that in IT industry, technology standards are not only the indications which facilitate the process of specialization, but the commercial motivation. Therefore, technology standards have already been the core competitive power for the companies in IT industry.In point of the forming mechanism of technology standards, the author then conducts a deeper research on the difference of the forming mechanism of technology standards between the traditional industry and IT industry. Starting with the basic definition of technology standard and its history, the author argues the co-developing relationship between technology standard and technical innovation, and then goes to the conclusion that for different technology, its forming mechanism of standard will varies, because of its unique technical characters. Then, paper gives out specific analysis about this view. At the end of this paper, the author gives out a conclusion of the above parts, points out the existing questions and related countermeasures for technology standardization of IT industry in China.
