The great development of West China brings both opportunity and challenge for Erdos city. The city shoud make the most of the favourable situation to adjust its industrial structure in order to develop its economy.Economic development means the development of industrial structure. Regional industrial structure and regional economic growth are both important aspects of regional economic development. On the one hand, they are closely related, on the other, they restricted each other. Economic growth causes the development of industrial structure which in turn pushes economic growth .On the basis of the theoretical study on the industrial structure both at home and abroad, the article summarize the environmental background conditions of the developing chang of the industrial structure in Erdos city in three respects: regional environment, resource environment and social environment. The paper uses the relevant theories of regional economics, industrial economics and geogrephy and with the help of computer and social statistic software, it adopts the combination of quatitative and quantitative analyses to analyse the developing change of Erdos industrial structure, and shift-share method to analyse quantitatively the influence of the industrial structure on the regional economy. It comments on the merits and deverits and the competitiveness of the industrial structure, finding out the relatively move competitive industrial sector, and further deciding the rational direction of the future economic development and the counter-measure to adjust the structure. It provides the reference for regional policy-making both theoretically and practically.
