Risky or beneficial from ERP in china? As opinions vary, no unanimous conclusion can be drawn. Since that, it would be particularly significant to pay great attention to the research for the value in practice of ERP in our country. By means of positivism, this article is trying to give answers to: Will it have positive effect or negative effect on elevating the company's value in our country by implementing ERP? and to provide a rational thinking and an observation in a certain view.To start the research, we first got the earnings-forecast values from case firms through experiments and then examined them by statistics. The prediction experiment was carried out by financial analysts and the predicted earning value included both of the pre-announcement of ERP and the amended prediction of post announcement. There were 35 case firms for the experiment, 18 of them were healthy firms and 17 of them were unhealthy. Every case firm was submitted to 35 financial analysts by random. James E Hunton's research found that the earning forecast value varies a lot in different financial conditions. But through further investigation, we found that the elevating result to the company's value by ERP didn't have much difference in different financial conditions, at least so in China by the time being. The result differed a little from James' conclusion(2002), but still come to a consistent outcome. That is: The implementing announcement of ERP does have positive effects on elevating the company' value. This research experiments prove that capital market participators will benefit from ERP.
