The three main problems facing the manufacturing companies to outsource their logistics activities are if they need to outsource and in what extent to outsource their logistics activities, how they select the most suitable exterior logistics provider(s) and how to cope with mutual relationships with the selected exterior logistics provider(s). These three problems form a chain of decision-makings and the content of this dissertation is about the discussion and analysis of this chian.In the first chapter, the dissertation analysis the importance of logistics to a manufacturing company and concludes the set of logistics network pattern after summarizing the basis conception of manufacturing companies' logistics. This chapter is a basis for the further discussion and analysis of the following chapters.In the second chapter, the dissertation first constructs the set for the decision-making of outsourcing logistics by manufacturing companies and then analysis these decision-makings and draws several practical guidelines for the manufacturing companies by using the economics theories including integrating theories, the comparative superiority theories, the scale-economics theories and transaction-cost theories. The conclusions and guidelines will help the manufacturing companies to implement the outsourcing strategies by positively not passively choosing the most suitable logistics outsourcing strategies for themselves.The third chapter concludes the steps of a manufacturing company to choose exterior logistics providers, based on which this chapter also analysis the decision-making of choosing logistics providers by using the information-imbalance and adverse selection theories of information economics and marginal revenue and cost analysis methods. This chapter also put forward some concrete advises and techniques to help the manufacturing companies to select exterior logistics providers.The last chapter first analysis the essential relationship between the manufacturing companies and exterior logistics providers and then by using game theory and moral hazardous theory analysis how the manufacturing companies better handle the relationship with exterior logistics providers. This chapter brings forward some practical tactics and advises for the manufacturing comoany to cope with exterior logistics providers in the end.Together with the economic analysis and conclusions of relevant chapters, the dissertation also analysis a case study of a manufacturing company who outsource its logistics activities.
