EC (Electronic Commerce) is fast developing and playing a more and more important role in international business. It mainly helps companies to create more opportunities and greatly reduce transaction cost. How can companies use EC to initiate new business model and compete well on the global market? What should be considered in the strategic planning of international EC for a plastic building material firm like GY Co., Ltd.? These are the main topics discussed in this article. Being a project of large scale and great complication, the establishment of international EC must be arranged carefully and consistent with the strategic target of the firm. This article begins with preface and the introduction of GY Company's background. The third section provides the international EC strategy of GY Company based on analysis of the world trends of the plastic industry and EC. The fourth section defines the demand of GY Company after describing its value chain model and critical success factors, and designs electronic commerce system with Information Strategic Planning, then set up the completed structure of international EC for GY Company based on Supply Chain Management and E-market Place Model, which will greatly support the strategic target of the firm. Additionally, some advice of how to establish the system is given at the last section.
