As a key strategic tool of an corporation, Design Management, in the present competition situation, is not only the integration and upgrade of all the design resources in a company, or a simple executing tool for company strategies, but, most importantly, is that design management should be elevated to the strategic decision-making level in a company. Design management should participate in the strategic decision-making and implementing, and design management can lead to a deep impetus to foster the Core Competence of Corporation.The paper discusses the relationship between design management and corporate management and some concepts about the competitive strategies and Core Competence of the Corporation in the beginning; the paper also analyses the characteristics of Design Management to prove that Design Management is very important to the decision-making of the strategy as a kind of strategic resource. The paper brings forward several methods about how to transform design management into the strategic resource of corporation, analyses the relationship between the stratagem of Design Management and the stratagem of a corporate management. Based on the analysis of the content of Design Management stratagem, the paper discusses the performing and implementing of design management under the direction of the stratagem of a corporation, how to make breakthrough in product and identity and how to build the Core Competence, design philosophy and even the culture of the corporation by the collection of design resource.This thesis analyses that the relationships between the cost stratagem of the corporation, the outsourcing stratagem and the design management stratagem. It also provides some advices in the realization of corporation stratagem, the implement of corporation outsourcing stratagem and the nurturance of core competition of the corporation. These will bring some constructive and deliberate insights to many domestic corporations, especially multi-stratagem corporations.The paper pays attention to the study about the design management stratagem and the core competence of the corporation under the new economic circumstance which is also a bright spot in this article.
