Research On WIP Inventory Control Of MTO Enterprises

Focusing on the problem of work-in-process(WIP) inventory control in make-to-order(MTO) enterprises, this thesis presents a control model of WIP inventory by giving an overall and systematic analysis of the influencing factors of WIP inventory from three levels, namely, external environment of the enterprise, its production and operations management, and the inner productive system.The arrangement of this thesis will be concluded as follows: Chapter 1 serves as an introduction, which covers the basis of the research, literature review and the content. Chapter 2 is the introduction of several important notions, which are mainly about the MTO enterprises and WIP inventory control. In chapter 3, the author gives an overall and systematic analysis of the influencing factors of WIP inventory in MTO enterprises from the above three levels. In Chapter 4, the author presents a WIP inventory control model for the MTO enterprises. Chapter 5 is mainly engaged in the discussion of the detailed approaches to control WIP inventory in MTO enterprises. Chapter 6 is a case study. As the concluding section, Chapter 7 summarizes the whole test and presents a promising prospect of research in this field.
