But past researches mostly aimed at the macro-level economy of China. As an important aspect of trade, imports are usually neglected. And researchers usually used a single analysis frame which made many subjects can't be analyzed completely and thorough. The research bases on the past the research fruit, combines academic analysis together with empirical investigation, and probe into two subjects of trade and growth : â‘ the relation between growth and trade since Chinese economic reform and open; â‘¡the mechanism how trade affects growth. This research review the viewpoints of trade-led growth firstly, and its process of advancement can be divided into four stages, each stage has different ideologies and shape variant strategies. From the past researches and the theories of trade-led growth, we can find five ways through which trade affects growth. After academic analysis, this research uses two analysis frames to going further into study about how trade affects growth on province level. The result comes out that export promotes the growth of total especially eastern economy of China, but it doesn't in central and west regions; import has remarkable positive role on growth; and the benign promoting circle between growth, import and export has come into being. Taking one with another, international trade could facilitate growth in China through many ways, such as take advantage of idle resources, capital accumulation, international division of labor, scale economies, advancement of industrial structure and institutional innovation, but it couldn't bring such positive role into play because of the scarcity of inputs (manpower and funds) and some other domestic conditions.
