Since 1978, non-state-owned economy began. Since the twenty-five years' adoption of the Chinese opening policy, it has become the important component of the national economy from the dependency status. The substantial roles the non-state-owned economy plays attract us to make research.The aim of this dissertation is to draw some valuable conclusions about the non-state-owned economy and its status and roles in the national economy by researching the developing course of non-state-owned economy and various references in which were recorded since non-state-owned economy came into being. We wish it would be beneficial to the healthy and quick development of non-state-owned economy.The research method in the dissertation is that according to Chinese situation, this dissertation begins with the scientific definition of non-state-owned economy after analyzing its grow-up course. By analysis on the distributional situation of the Chinese non-state-owned economy to market, the author refers to "Chinese Analytic Annual" during 1978 to 2002 and the other datum, and chooses some vital economic analytic indices related to non-state-owned economy which are analyzed, divided, gathered as well as counted, then, illustrates the status and roles of non-state-owned economy in our national economy by using various charts. Lastly, the status and roles of non-state-owned economy in our national economy are revealed by illustrating the contribution that the non-state-owned economy is making to national economy by analyzing some main indices.The first chapter briefly illustrates the significance of the research for this project .Then , it introduces the definition of the non-state-owned economy and its principal characters, and reviews its grow-up course,as well as analyzes the developing characters during the on-going period. Thus a smooth way to do a research is paved.The second chapter begins with analyzing on distributional situation of the Chinese non-state-owned economy in three separate industries, and explores the non-state-owned status and roles. In the first industry, the non-state-owned economy is the important force to realize resources conglomeration and the adjustment for industry structure, and it is the main body of market competitive mechanism; In the second industry, the non-state-owned economy is the motivityof the increase of the national economy. It is the important force of realizing the industrialize and it is the vital power to adjust the industry structure and promote the social employment as well as technology improvement. In the third industry, the non-state-owned economy is the quite significant force to support the adjustment for industry structure and absorb civil investment. It is also the crucial power to break through monopoly, encourage the competition, improve service level and create market rules.The third part illustrates the contribution that the non-state-owned economy is making to our national economy so as to explain the status and role of the non-state-owned economy. It has been proved that China's non-state-owned economy is makinga substantial role in stimulating investment, expanding export, activating the increase in gross domestic products and revenue, and propelling the structure adjustment.The fourth chapter briefly summarizes the status and role of the non-state-owned economy in the national economy and introduces that the non-state-owned economy will make a greater contribution with the beneficial policy about promoting the non-state-owned economy continually appearing.
