The present thesis launch a discussion on the forming and fostering of Market Intermediary Organizations (MIO) in a social transformation period.With the early growth of the market economy, the market economic system of the nation is approaching perfection day by day. Market intermediaries, which are an inevitable result of specialization division, constitute a part of the whole system. In our country, the delayed growth and the backwardness in development of the MIOs, especially the distortions during their growth, is becoming a reality influencing the construction of our market economy and an economic and social problem waiting to be solved.This thesis, expounding the MIO from the angle of information economical theory, holds that a MIO is essentially a firm. The MIOs play an important role in solving the problem of market information asymmetry. They help to lower transaction costs and improve efficiency of market operation. However, while coping with information asymmetry, the problems of information asymmetry, supplying fraud information and information monopoly exist in themselves.In addition, the thesis analyses the prerequisites, conditions and existing problems for the development of the MIOs in our country. The prerequisite and conditions are market economy and system construction. The existing problems are mainly information asymmetry and monopoly. The perfection of related systems and the introduction competition are favorable solutions.
