Since 1990s, with the rapid development of the information and communication technology (ICT), electronic commerce has been turned into the most important measure to enhance global competitive ability in the 21st century. In our country and our province, the enterprise electronic commerce is to be improved. On the one hand, the government needs to advance the electronic commerce application in enterprises; On the other hand, the enterprises want to carry on electronic commerce. From the two starting points, two important questions are studied in this thesis: first, carrying on the investigation and the evaluation to electronic commerce application in Jiangsu Province enterprises; second, discussing electronic business model in Jiangsu Province enterprises.Based on the massive literature review, the "Jiangsu Province enterprise informationzation and electronic commerce application" questionnaire is designed. According to the result of the questionnaire survey, the general analysis is made about electronic commerce application in Jiangsu Province enterprises. Then, the index system of electronic commerce in Jiangsu Province enterprises is constructed by using the factor analysis, so that these investigated enterprises can be evaluated by the index system. In addition, the electronic business model, the key success factor to the electronic commerce application in enterprises, is discussed in this paper. A new idea about the classification of e-business model is purposed. The idea is based on the view of system and makes use of the analytic way of value chain. After classifying the e-business model in Jiangsu Province enterprises, ten prevailing e-business models are defined and further described. These models, including web yellow page, e-shop/service, e-procurement, e-mall, e-auction, virtual community, third-party marketplace, value-chain integrator, value-chain service provider and infomedia, are compared in the view of integration and creativity. As a result, some advices and instructions about enterprise's application and choice are provided in closing.
