As an important factor of private economy, the private high-tech enterprises have contributed significantly to the Chinese economy development. At present, the private high-tech enterprises have recognized the necessity of department performance management, and adopt some measurements, but the results are not satisfied. They want to do it simply, but the effect is little. When they pay much on it in order to make it scientific, but the result is bad too.This paper strives to solve the series of problems about department performance management that the private high-tech enterprises are facing now, so we advice to adopt the way of the department performance management by the direction of objectives. This paper describes the way in detail, and it directs the key department how to practice it. This way combines performance management with management by objectives, combines performance management with performance development, and combines performance development with management by objectives, meanwhile connects department objectives to enterprise objectives. It makes a new system of new performance management and job standard in order to make the enterprise objectives come true. The department performance management by the direction of objectives provides a new way for department performance management.
