Temperature and time in circulation determinate the quality of the perishable food. In order to guarantee the quality and reduce the waste we need distribute perishable food in a seamless cold chain. Temperature and tolerance raise higher requirements for the cold chain system, compared with dry food logistics system. Cold chain logistics system requires not only higher technologies, more investment, but also quicker circulation and better coordination. Logistics planning plays a decisive role in the efficiency and total cost of logistics system. The thesis illuminates the key points and distinctive features of the cold chain planning respectively from four main facets, customer service level, transportation system, warehouse and network layout, inventory and supply system, in the hope of being helpful for the enterprises to achieve a higher service lever, meanwhile a lower cost in logistics field. In the last part the thesis describes the current development of cold chain in China from macro aspect, and offers several suggestions for the government.
