With globalization, individuality in consumption and consumer's mass customization, the market has been developing at an unprecedented speed. Therefore, no individual enterprise can obtain all information, resources and capability required by various kinds of markets. All these conditions are indispensable to virtual enterprise, which can only be obtained in a collaborative e-commerce situation, i.e., the automatic collaboration of virtual world.In this paper, the author firstly gives an introduction to theoretical background of virtual enterprises. In constructing a virtual enterprise, asymmetric information has been a great obstacle. However, it has been reduced by collaborative e-commerce in today's information age, thus encouraging the construction of a virtual enterprise.The paper also gives an analysis to a champion enterprise in constructing a virtual enterprise, including its function, conditions, and principalship arrangement. Then, the paper discusses the classification of different partner enterprises, and adopt the risk matrix to evaluate the choosing process of partner enterprises. After deciding all member enterprises, the paper puts an emphasis on the construction process and pattern of virtual enterprises. Finally, the paper conducts a detailed study on the integration of core competence, the motivation of virtual enterprises, the distribution of control power and cross-cultural management.
